Hello, Area J! I am the Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition at North Colonie Central Schools. I am a Registered Dietitian. I graduated from Russell Sage College with a Bachelors in in Nutrition Science, and then went on to complete my dietetic internship and Masters in Nutrition Communication with the Sage Colleges. I have had the privilege of serving North Colonie Central School District for the past three years. Prior to this, I worked as a Lead Clinician in the acute care setting, where I gained valuable experience in patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In my current role, I focus on providing nutritious, appealing meals that support student success both in the classroom and beyond. I am passionate about improving student health through thoughtful menu planning, food safety, and nutrition education. I have worked closely with school staff, families, and community partners to create a positive impact on students' well-being. In addition to my role, I am currently serving on both the NYSNA Farm to School Committee and the Conference Committee, where I help drive initiatives that promote local food sourcing and support professional development in the school nutrition field. As a member of the New York State School Nutrition Association, I am eager to continue advocating for policies that ensure all students have access to healthy meals and the opportunity to thrive. ~ Alex ~

AREA J DIRECTOR
Alex Clements is the Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services at North Colonie Central Schools. Alex is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, having completed her dietetic internship at the Sage Colleges and her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Russell Sage College. She also has her Masters in Nutrition Communications from the Sage Colleges. Alex has been in school nutrition since 2022. She currently lives in Mechanicville, NY with her husband and dog, Rigatoni Clements.
