Superintendent Norman launches "Super Sub" initiative at Sapphire

A Day in the Kitchen with Superintendent Dr. Norman - The most memorable moment was Dr. Norman stepping in for Adriana Pizzoferrato, a Food Service worker at Sapphire Elementary, on a particularly humid day in the kitchen. Dr. Norman experienced firsthand a day in the life of a food service worker and gained insight into the need for flexibility, speed, and careful attention to detailed procedures required by state, local, and federal regulations that govern our operations. From preparing items with nutritional information sheets to following department-created recipes with precise instructions, temperatures, and approved substitutions, Dr. Norman saw just how much goes into serving meals safely and efficiently. Many team members were thrilled and grateful for Dr. Norman’s help, appreciating the firsthand perspective on the skills and dedication needed in our department. ■
