As New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball said last month , New York farm to school leads the nation in making healthy food readily available to students. As we move forward from the COVID-19 pandemic, farm to school programs will continue to expand and continue nourishing young people while supporting local economies. This new site, maintained and updated regularly by CCE’s NYS Farm to School Program Work Team, is not only a resource hub, but also offers opportunities for those involved in farm to school programming to connect with the growing network of farm to school coordinators across the state. The NYS Farm to School Program Work Team is co- chaired by Cheryl Bilinski, agriculture economic development specialist and farm to school regional program lead with CCE Harvest NY, and Moira Tidball, farm to school coordinator and nutrition issue leader with CCE Seneca County. Becky O’Connor (CCE Harvest NY), Julie Raway (Broome Tioga BOCES, New York School Nutrition Association), Stephanie Hsu (Farm to Institution New York State), and Victoria Giarratano (CCE) provide leadership for the team.
