It allowed us to develop and adjust ideas we had and make necessary adjustments as well as include new ideas. The support we received was just right.” “The relationships built throughout this entire retreat were the highlight of this experience.” “The one-on-one time with our coach was the most valuable. We really liked our coach and the feedback and ideas she provided.” “The speakers were very inspiring. I liked that they were farmers and the Commissioner came!” Tic tohs aefcohNui nre tgwh, pyYeeoearr r-kt wo F- ipat rhe me yr emtaoer lnoSt nco hgr oi ntorgla, iaInnni dns tgI i mt uoppt el pe moc roet nun tnt i ani tt uii eoesns, Aot ofwuyareriadnrs t.shIunecscHt ei utsuds teseos snwc Vhi taohlol eal yt Se. pa mr i ns gwCi lel lceebl re abtri ao tne at hn edi rf ae rnmd AS2 c0ph2po3l io. cl IantI tinoesnrt eistsut fet oedr ws ct ihhl leo ob 2les 0oa2rp3ee- n2e n4ac toNut ehr wae g eeYndodrt oko rf eF Jaaacrnhmu oa urt oyt to the FINYS team (finys@farmland.org) for more information and for application assistance.

“We received excellent support and care for all our Farm to School Institute members. The AFT program has inspired us to take actions to bring new and exciting ideas to our Farm to School program that probably would have languished had it not been for the attention and inspiration this program brought to us. You gave us the inspiration and we did the work. That is the definition of a great team in action!”

- Farm to School NYC

“I feel like the institute reaffirmed the need for organizations like FINYS to purposefully work to connect the dots by providing guides, toolkits, technical assistance, and forums to help people build capacity and sometimes just realize what is feasible. Everyone seemed to acknowledge that farm to school is hard work, and farmers to food hubs to schools were each facing unique challenges.”

- Mikaela Ruiz-Ramon, AFT NY Policy Coordinator

“[The institute] helped keep us accountable and inspired during a very difficult year. We made some significant improvements to our Harvest of the Month program that were inspired by other teams in the Institute, including adding a Farmer of the Month feature and incorporating a link for an online activity. We also recorded virtual farm tours and posted them to our new YouTube channel. The Institute also provided us with a shared vocabulary and starting point for incorporating DEIJ work into our Farm to School activities.”
