Apply for a Scholarship!
A Message from the School Nutrition Foundation Exciting scholarship news and updates! The Foundation is switching to a new scholarship platform! In an effort to increase awareness and make the application process easier for SNA members, SNF’s scholarship program will now be available on Submittable. The applications will still be located on the Foundation’s website , along with instructions and eligibility guidelines. Have you ever considered applying for a SNF scholarship? It’s never been simpler! Achieve your educational dreams with an education scholarship from the School Nutrition Foundation. Professional Development Scholarships provide SNA members with funding for tuition and books for the following school year. Additionally, in an ongoing effort to help members develop professionally, SNA donates funds to SNF to award scholarships to help members attend SNA’s School Nutrition Industry Conference (SNIC), Legislative Action Conference (LAC), and Annual National Conference (ANC). Further, SNF continues to work to expand the Equipment Grant program for our members. Never in the history of SNA has the need for new or updated kitchen equipment and serving lines been greater than it is today. For over 13 years, SNF has awarded Equipment Grants to deserving SNA members. Through a technology equipment survey SNF conducted this year, we determined members’ evolving equipment needs, including laptops, monitors, and tablets. As a result, in 2022, SNF is focusing on providing technology grants in addition to its traditional equipment grants. SNF hopes to have multiple industry partners step up and join our efforts to ensure SNA members have the tools they need to feed school children in this ever-changing environment. Together, our goal is to help provide technology equipment for deserving SNA members who need it most. We plan to open the 2022 Equipment Grants application(s) in October of 2021. If your kitchen is in need of new equipment, take the opportunity to apply for a grant this Fall! Be on the lookout for more information to come! Through generous contributions from our friends in the SN equipment industry, the School Nutrition Foundation expanded the equipment grant program over the last two years. Due to the challenges from this past year, the equipment has become the most-needed assistance from SNF. We’ll be providing more information in the coming weeks.
