BY TE I SHA ROBERTSON REGIONAL SALES MANAGER PILGRIMS/GOLD KIST In the interim, continue to utilize the NYSNA as the “GO TO” resource for all K-12 school food needs. As an organization this past school year, I think you’ll agree. NYSNA was able to supply school food programs with great alternatives to “in person shows” Giving visibility to what schools really needed when there were very few options, during the exhaustive days in the height of the pandemic. “From the Show Floor” was a very successful platform, not only for schools but for Industry as well. It provided the ability to showcase products schools needed, as well as provide an interactive website, and a “Video” library for schools to access at their convenience, at a later time. While we recognize there are still extensive challenges facing meal programs this school year, including continued post pandemic supply chain issues, and further regulatory challenges related to sodium reductions. We continue to be committed to supporting school lunch programs across New York State, in whichever ways present, as we are now confident in our ability to adapt and overcome. Here’s to and official “Welcome Back”! See you all there!!

Well I have to say, WE MADE IT! We have never been more excited for “Back to School” than this school year. We have finally realised our return to in-person Back to School, and we could not be more thrilled.More importantly, is the return to normal for themillions of students across the state that will be back to the in-person learning they have been longing for. They will not only be returning to their schools, but also returning to their friends, their teachers, and of course, their cafeteria’s! With Universal Feeding being at the forefront this year, school lunch programs will be busier than ever. Our “School Lunch Heroes” will once again, transition to feeding our children for another new school year, while all having worked tirelessly to feed their students and communities throughout COVID-19. What an experience it has been… We continue to applaud you, we thank you, and we see you. As industry conferences are quickly approaching, we looking forward to seeing you all at any one of the upcoming NYSNA Regional Industry Seminars in October. Whether it be in, Rochester, Saratoga, or Long Island, we are feeling grateful to be able to be altogether once again, doing what we love. We hope Food Service Directors and their staff are feeling the same, as we are trying to make these conferences extra special this year, and are expecting attendance to be in record numbers. So please join us, and register early!
