Akron Central School Nutrition Associates were asked to attend the annual ACS Native Senior Student Banquet held on June 23, 2021 on the Tondawanda Reservation at an outside reception at the Council Office. Both Paula Gervasio and Diane Ernst were request to attend by the senior students and both felt it was an honor to be asked to attend. They each spoke for a brief moment about their student.

There were not many chances for the Erie County School Nutrition Association Executive Board to meet physically, but there were opportunities on Zoom. As Covid restrictions gradually lifted, the Executive Board met on June 22, 2021 in the Clarence Town Park with a socially distanced gathering including past directors and new coming directors for Erie County. The Executive Board has been hard a work planning upcoming programs and events if COVID restrictions continue to trend with in-person gathering. At this time, school districts are in summer school programs withmask guidance lifting, but guidance for the fall is still in question. At our meeting, President, Ruth Conner discussed NYSNA Chapter Awards and where ECSNA is in completing the levels. Diana McCarthy one of our Industry Members, discussed industry membership and the forecasting of products there are trying to provide to schools during the pandemic. Not only

is forecasting a topic of concern, so is the trucking industry trying to meet the needs of schools. Currently, scholarships for the 2021 Fall Annual Conference are being awarded to ECSNA members. The ECSNA Leadership is looking to host a Zoom event for new Erie County directors and a Professional Development plan for training is being looked into for late August for members. A Fall Banquet is being planned on September 30 for a Buffalo River Works Boat Tour with dinner included and fundraisers. Not only do we look to the betterment of ourselves, we look outside to the betterment of our community. On July 16th, 716 day was highlighted in the Western New York area. Barbara Albi, reminded us all to contribute to Haven House. This organization is a shelter or safe-haven in Erie County for families affected by domestic violence.
