COMMITTEES Membership MEET THE

COMMITTEES Membership

What do they do? This committee promotes membership within NYSNA and SNA by focusing on growth and retention. The committee may establish annual goals, work with chapters, and promote membership at conferences. This Committee consists of all of our area directors and some of our industry friends!

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

NICOLE BONICA NYC Department of Education

Participating on the NYSNA team has been one of the most professionally rewarding aspects of my career. Through NYSNA, I have had an opportunity to expand my horizons as a school nutrition professional to better serve school meals. NYSNA provides a wealth of resources and professional education to keep members actively engaged and well-informed of current child nutrition initiatives and legislative policy issues. For all these reasons, I joined the Membership Committee to recruit like-minded school nutrition professionals to enjoy the rewards and benefits of being a NYSNA member.

I love the community that NYSNA is and I love contributing even more ideas to boost our membership to make it even better! Fun fact: I took best of show for my Pysanka (Ukrainian Egg decorating) & I have made over 350 masks for family, friends, and co- workers since March!

Food is our common ground! Fun Fact:

My husband and I enjoying riding side by side during the summer with our daughter and bloodhound.

Serving and connecting people has always be a passion of mine. Having the opportunity to do so for NYSNA is an honor. Fun fact: I love fanny packs!

Membership in our association serves to make people aware of the amazing things that we do each and every day Fun fact: I enjoy outdoor activities!

ALICIA MALONEY At Your Service Sales

I joined the membership committee because I love what the community of NYSNA provides to its members. The camaraderie, knowledge, and ideas shared between the members is invaluable. I’m excited to be able to share that with other School Nutrition Professionals across the state. Fun Fact: I have done CrossFit for the past 8 years (and still love it).

The membership committee gives me a chance to reach out to other districts and get to know my surrounding directors! It helps me figure out what their needs are and how we can help them become members of NYSNA! Fun fact: I love shopping! I have 3 closets full of clothes and shoes!

I focus on improving the food quality and the student’s experience from service to bite, so why wouldn’t I want to improve the experience of a member’s time within the association from the beginning of their time in this industry till retirement! That is why I am part of the membership committee to help NYSNA in all ways that I can! Fun fact: I do woodwork and hikes, Breakneck Ridge in Coldsprings, NY is one of my favorite trails.

The membership committee gives me a chance to help strengthen the organization in so many aspects! Fun Fact: I am a backyard farmer – I have 24 hens and 3 beehives that houses about 400,000 bees.

I chose to be Central Area Director and membership committee... I’m Excited to join a diverse group of dedicated professionals who are making a difference in the lives of children. I want child nutrition staff to love NYSNA as much as I do! Fun fact: Cheese, any kind, is my favorite food which is why I fit in Child nutrition so well.
